Golden Bites was born out of a challenging chapter in the life of its founder, Renata Bertrand, in mid-2019, when she discovered in cooking a therapeutic way to overcome postpartum struggles. What began as a personal journey soon turned into a growing business serving the Brazilian community in Cork, Ireland. Within months, her passion and creativity transformed into a brand that stood out for its authentic flavors and commitment to quality.

Together with her husband and business partner, Patrick Bertrand, Renata led the brand to rapid growth and recognition. In just two years, Golden Bites was nominated among the Top 3 Best New Businesses 2023 and later among the Top 3 Best Businesses 2025 by the Cork Business Association—a milestone that confirmed the company’s potential beyond its local roots.

With the launch of a new production site in Palmela, Portugal, Golden Bites took a bold step toward international expansion. From this new base, the company now supplies a growing network of clients across Portugal, Ireland, and other European countries, strengthening its presence in the retail, food-service, and private-label sectors.
